POSSIBLE SITE OF MERWELL (MERWILLE) MENTIONED IN UPPER WINCHENDON BOUNDARY CHARTER OF AD 1004. HOW FAR UP HILL WAS BOUNDARY SPRING IN 1004? SMALL NOTCH IN 30O FT CONTOUR SUGGESTS SP743126 BUT BOUNDARY ITSELF HAS KINK AT SP742127. THERE IS STILL A WELL ABOUT 300 YARDS SE OF THIS POINT (B1-3).
