A possible extractive pit of post medieval date is visible on historic aerial photographs and remote sensing data as extant earthworks and was mapped as part of the North Buckinghamshire Aerial Investigation and Mapping project (EBC18304). Located approximately 130m south east of the Church, Church End, Leckhampstead and centred at SP 472756 237844. This was mapped as an extractive pit based on its appearance on lidar visualisation, there is a raised area towards the middle of the area which is approximately 11x13m in size; the whole pit is 51x37m. There is no clear windmill mound as has been found elsewhere is the project. Other extractive pits are also visible nearby, all are cut through ridge and furrow earthworks and in to White Limestone, which is a local building stone. It is not possible to say definitively from aerial photographs and lidar visualisations. The area was also investigated as part of the Whittlewood project, which included historical research, and although mills are mentioned, only a watermill is referred to specifically. (2-7)
