BRITISH GAS PIPELINE SITE NA541. FEATURE SHOWS IN BOTH FACES OF PIPE TRENCH; PROB A DITCH. E SIDE DESTROYED. DITCH CUT INTO SUBSOIL: LIGHT BROWN CLAY LOAM & CHALK LUMPS & FLINTS. FILL: BROWN CLAY LOAM, CHALK FLECKS & SHATTERED FLINT. SOME CHARCOAL FLECKS & AREA OF RED ?BURNING. FRAG ?MED POT/TILE RECOVERED FROM FILL (B1).
