Description

Possible settlement remains indicated by sample of late Medieval-Tudor pottery collected from part of a field in which earthworks are visible on Aps. Field at angle of roads; NGR to centre of finds. Note: pottery kilns in fields to NE (see CASS 05211). See also CASS 00430 (B1).
A possible kiln site was identified from a concentration of wasters and overfired pottery during fieldwalking in 1990. The kiln location was also marked by very dark soil containing plentiful charcoal (B2).
