Type and Period (1)

  • RING DITCH (Early Neolithic to Late Bronze Age - 4000 BC? to 701 BC?)

Description

Plan Form - Circular.
Cropmark of possible ring ditch visible on AP (B1).
Although nothing is visible on surface of field of young crop to indicate presence of a barrow, siting is feasible, being below the crest of a gentle N facing slope (B2).
2 ring ditches plotted at 1:2500 (paper-strip method)(B3).
A probable ring-ditch was noted on a commercial air photograph. No features were observed on a field visit, but the siting suggests a ploughed out barrow (B4).
