'LATE MILLER OF THORNTON' MENTIONED 1242 (B7).
A WATERMILL RECORDED IN 1278-9. THERE WERE 2 WATERMILLS ON MANOR IN 1606, & WERE 3 CORNMILLS HERE THROUGHOUT C18 (B4).
NGR TO 'WATERMILL' MARKED ON MAPS 1788 & 1825 (B2).
SP 751364 A water mill at Thornton was established by 1242 and abandoned by 1850 (B9).
