BEHIND BELL HOTEL IS A BLOCK OF BUILDINGS; NOW (1894) A MALTHOUSE, STABLES &C; ONCE WERE PARISH WORKHOUSE, STRAW PLAITING SCHOOL, & LOCKUP FOR MISDEMEANANTS(B2). BUILDINGS ON 1835 MAP NOW PART OF BELL HOTEL; MUCH ALTERED, 1 WING IN POOR REPAIR (PHOTO)(B3).
