APPESLEY OR APSLEY 1ST MENTIONED IN CHARTER OF ROGER DE HAMPTON. PRESUMABLY BELONGED TO HONOUR OF DUDLEY AS IN 1846-7 HELD BY GEOFFREY POLE WHO THEN HELD MANOR OF ELLESBOROUGH. ALSO HELD BY TEMPLE FAMILY IN C16 & THE SHEPHERDS OF GREAT ROLLRIGHT C17-18 (B4).
