Description

AT THE BASE OF A C17-18 PIT (NO 339; 05.003) WAS A JUMBLE OF HUMAN BONES, THE REMAINS OF AT LEAST 9 INDIVIDUALS. THE BONES SEEM TO HAVE BEEN DEPOSITED HERE TOGETHER, PROBABLY IN A SACK. UNDOUBTEDLY, THESE BONES ACCOUNT FOR SOME MISSING GRAVES IN THE MID-SAXON CEMETERY (B1 P12). SEE CASS2575.01.001
