Description
LAND IN CHILTON GIVEN C13 TO ABBEY OF NUTLEY WAS NUCLEUS OF MANOR OWNED BY THAT HOUSE IN 1535. IN 1542 IT WAS GRANTED UNDER TITLE OF CANNON FARM OR CANNON COURT TO JOHN CROKE. AFTER BREAK-UP OF CROKE ESTATES IT WAS FINALLY PURCHASED BY SIR JOHN AUBREY( B4).
