Description

1 SOCKETED SPEARHEAD FOUND BY W EAST AT MAIDENHEAD RAILWAY BRIDGE (B3). 3 LATE BRONZE AGE SPEARHEADS FOUND DOWNSTREAM OF MAIDENHEAD RAILWAY BRIDGE (B3). LISTS SPEARHEADS FOUND IN THAMES AT MAIDENHEAD (B5). NGR TO THAMES AT MAIDENHEAD BRIDGE (B4).



A Middle Bronze Age socketed spearhead with basal loops (Acc. No.115.52) and a Late Bronze Age socketed spearhead with a bronze single rivet (Acc.No. 119.52) were recovered from the river Thames below Maidenhead Railway Bridge in June 1952 (B8).

These spearheads are in the Thames Conservancy collection on loan to Reading Museum. (Accession Nos. 68; 52 and 99, 52) (B9).
