Description

QUANTITY OF C19 BROWN-GLAZED EARTHENWARE POTTERY SHERDS FOUND UNDER OUTER WALL OF COTTAGE IN CUTTING FOOTINGS FOR EXTENSION. ACCORDING TO MR STALEY, BROKEN SHERDS WERE BROUGHT FROM AKELEY POTTERIES (CASS 04174) TO PLACE UNDER WALLS TO PREVENT RISING DAMP . SHERDS MAY, THEREFORE, BE AKELEY WARES (B1-2).
