Description

DEEP QUARRY NOTED IN WOOD, CENTRED AT NGR, & TOWARDS ITS N W CORNER A LARGE AMOUNT COMPACTED TILE & VITRIFIED BRICK, PROB C18-EARLY C19, VISIBLE IN STEEP SIDE OF QUARRY. ALTHOUGH NO KILNS SURVIVE, PROBABLE THAT TILE & BRICK MADE HERE. SAMPLE AT BCM. MAP, 1808, SHOWS KILN CLOSE ADJACENT TO W (B1,2).
