Plan Form - RECTANGULAR
MOAT, INTERSECTED BY A BROOK; SECTION VISIBLE IN BANKS. BROOK ONCE FLOWED AROUND S PART OF MOAT. WHOLE MOAT WAS ONCE FLOODED?(B1).
OS FIELD INVESTIGATOR SAYS IS DOUBTFUL MOAT; IS A VILLAGE ENCLOSURE DEFINED BY DEPRESSIONS, PART OF SHRUNKEN VILLAGE S OF GREAT HORWOOD? (B2).
NGR TO MOAT CENTRE (B1).

A bank and ditch of possible medieval date are visible on historic aerial photographs and remote sensing data as earthworks and were mapped as part of the North Buckinghamshire Aerial Investigation and Mapping project (EBC18304). Located approximately 100m west of Manor Farm, Great Horwood, and centred at SP 477194 231598. L shaped bank and ditch visible as earthworks close to a watercourse and at the southern edged of ridge and furrow earthworks. Recorded as a moat by the County Museum Archaeological Group. Not enough features are clear to confirm or otherwise. (5-7)
