Description

SITE CODE EVG 80. DURING CONSTRUCTION WORK ON FORMER GARDEN OF GREEN END HOUSE, THE SITE WAS WATCHED FOR EVIDENCE OF THE CONTINUATION OF THE LATE SAXON DITCH (CASS 1932). HOWEVER, DESPITE THE PRESENCE OF A FEW ROMAN, SAXON, MEDIEVAL, TUDOR & POST-MEDIEVAL SHERDS, & A PROBABLE CIVIL WAR DITCH (CAS 04693:01), THE EXERCISE WAS INCONCLUSIVE (B1-2).
