Description

WOODEND, A MESSUAGE WITH YARD-LAND BELONGING TO MEDMENHAM MANOR, WAS SOLD BEFORE 1569 TO JAMES DUFFIELD. FARM BELONGED TO FRANCIS DUFFIELD AT HIS DEATH IN 1612. BOUGHT BY TOWNSENDS IN 1730 & OWNED BY THEM FOR OVER 130 YEARS, THEIR RESIDENCE BEING WOODEND HOUSE (01:000) (B1).
