The post-medieval brick works is visible on historic aerial photographs and remote sensing data as earthworks and was mapped as part of the North Buckinghamshire Aerial Investigation and Mapping project (EBC18304). Located about 600 metres NNW of Catherine Farm and centred at SP 71134 25661, the eponymous ‘The Old Brick Yard’ is recorded on the 1880 dated 1st Edition OS map as a ‘Brick Field’ and ‘Brick and Tile Works’ comprising at that time two kilns as well as a pair of semi-detached cottages and five ancillary buildings. Still a working site in 1899, by 1923 the 3rd Edition OS map records that the site is disused by that time. On aerial photographs taken in 1946, the kilns are not visible but four of the buildings are visible and remain extant in 1973 but are demolished by 2003. On aerial photographs taken in 2019, the cottages remain upstanding (7-13).
