Description

Grade II. Circa 1893 and designed with Main (Feathers) Lodge. Stone piers with pilasters, alternate courses of diamond cut stones and vases with covers and swags. Elaborate wrought iron carriage gates and overthrow. Curved flank walls with pedestrian gate on each side. Wrought iron gates. Walls have straight end sections finishing with piers topped with balls on pedestals. Made by Singer of Frome (B7).
The Feathers Gates are named after the ostrich features in the crest of Frederick, Prince of Wales, who rented Cliveden from 1737 until 1751 (B20).
