'A PROPERTY IN LANGLEY MARISH SOMETIMES CALLED THE MANOR OF GROVES ALIAS GIBBONS CONSISTING OF A MESSUAGE AND 104 ACRES WAS HELD OF THE ROYAL MANOR IN 1547 BY THOMAS SMITH...THE NAME SURVIVES IN GROVE FARM WHERE THERE WAS FORMERLY A LARGE HOUSE CALLED GROVE HOUSE (B1) (SEE 01:000).
