Description

MR.AND MRS J BENNELL VISITED SHOP BEFORE DEMOLITION. CROWN-POST ASSEMBLY AND ASSOCIATED BRACES AND BEAMS FOUND SUPPORTING ROOF OF HALL-TYPE HOUSE OF C.1400. PART OF STONE FIREPLACE, CROWN-POST WITH 3 BRACKETS FROM SHOP AT BCM (B1). SHOP WAS AT NGR, HIGH STREET, CHALFONT ST PETER (B2). Building recording carried out by RCHM. Detailed report including plans, reconstruction drawings and photographs (B4).
NGR given in B2 possibly incorrect: RCHM report in B4 suggests on opposite side of street (Nos 43-47) at approx TQ00061 90823.
