Description

Dimensions - Radius 320cm, Height 730cm.
Plan Form - CIRCULAR
MILL BUILT IN 1830 WITH MACHINERY FITTED BY WILLIAM COOPER (B1-2).
SAILS REMOVED C1870 AND TOWER TRUNCATED. USED AS GARDEN SHED (B3).
SURVIVES AS BASE OF WINDMILL, VARI-COLOURED BRICK, CIRCULAR WALLS WITH CASTELLATED TOP. 2 STOREYS. ONLY MILLER LISTED IS SPENCER HOMEWOOD IN 1840'S-50'S (B4-6).
Buildings report held at NMR (B7).
An unusual survival is the cut-down tower mill now in the grounds of Mill Cottage. The walls are rendered and topped with crenellations, quite a common treatment for redundant windmills (B8).
