Description

MAP OF 1825 SHOWS A WINDMILL APPROX AT NGR (B1).
OS MAP MARKS 'WINDMILL (CORN)' AT NGR (B2).
MILL HAS INSCRIPTION 'THIS MILL WAS ERECTED BY JEREMIAH SILVER IN 1802' AND WAS BROUGHT [TO CUDDINGTON] FROM A PREVIOUS SITE AT HULCOTT. MILL WAS A FINE BIG POST & ROUNDHOUSE STRUCTURE & WAS ALWAYS PAINTED WHITE (B3).
ILLUSTRATION OF CUDDINGTON WINDMILL IN FULL SAIL IN 1894. REEFING ROPES ARE VISIBLE ON THE SAILS; ALSO THE BRAKE-ROPE TRAILING OVER THE ROUND-HOUSE ROOF. DEMOLISHED C.1925 (B4).
MILL HAD COMMON SAILS & BRICK ROUNDHOUSE WITH A TILED ROOF (B5).
PHOTO OF MILL IN JULY 1907 SHOWS A FINE POST MILL, WITH COMMON SAILS, A BRICK && TILED ROUNDHOUSE, TAILPOST & LADDER (B6).
