Description

REFERENCES TO A MILL BELONGING TO RICHARD DE LA VACHE IN THE LATE 13TH CENTURY POINT TO THERE HAVING BEEN A WINDMILL ON HIS LAND, WHICH LAY ON THE LEFT BANK OF THE RIVER MISBOURNE. THE MILL OF ROBERT POLET, WHO WAS PROBABLY A TENANT ON THE VACHE FEE, MENTIONED IN 1275 IS DOUBTLESS THE SAME MILL (B1).
