Description

Plan Form - Circular.
Dovecote built by Mr T D T Drake c.1800. Cylindrical brick structure 7m diameter. With 1000 recesses for birds, each 400mm wide, 230mm deep. By 1923 building turned into granary (B1-3).
Still in use as granary 1978 (B1).
Grade II. Probably C18. Large circular structure of brick, now colourwashed, but evidently red with black header pattern. Plain doorway, small stepped cornice to later low pitched roof covered with slates. Inside is a regular disposition of brick ledges and nesting boxes (B6).
