Description
POSS HOUSE SITES DELINEATED BY END OF RIDGE & FURROW(BI1). LITTLE NOW VISIBLE ON GROUND.LINE ACCENTUA TING END OF R&F IS DRAIN.MR GOODCHILD OF BISHOPSTONE FARM NOTES ORIGINALLY CALLED MANOR FARM SO SITE COULD REPRESENT A SMALL MANORIAL SETTLEMENT(BI2).
Boundary or drainage ditches and possible house platforms medieval/post medieval date are visible on historic aerial photographs and remote sensing data as extant earthworks and were mapped as part of the Aylesbury Vale Aerial Investigation and Mapping project (EBC18604). Located south of Bishopstone Farm, Stone with Bishopstone with Hartwell, and centred at SP 80291 10255. A boundary ditch around ridge and furrow earthworks with short boundaries perpendicular to it, forming smaller parcels of land. Lidar visualisations show linear earthworks within these parcels. (4-5)
