WELL DISCOVERED WHEN DEMOLISHING SCULLERY ANNEXE. LINED WITH LIMESTONE BLOCKS, EACH C.200MM SQUARE. DIAMETER AT TOP 0.5M, WIDENING TO AT LEAST 1M. FURTHER DOWN. DEPTH UNKNOWN BUT WATER LEVEL C.6M FROM TOP. WELL IS NOT BEING INFILLED BUT CAPPED WITH CONCRETE. FOUND BY WORKMEN, NOV 1977 (B1).
