Description

DETAILS OF A SKIRMISH BETWEEN PARLIAMENTARY & ROYALIST FORCES AT LONG CRENDON ON JAN 27TH 1645. TRADITION HAS FIXED THE SITE OF THIS SMALL BATTLE ON THE FIELDS TO N OF CHEARSLEY ROAD. 'ALONG ROAD IN MR ROSE'S FIELD, SWORDS & SPEARS WERE DUG UP' (B1).
